Our Materials, Care & Warranties

All our pieces are crafted in 14k and 9k Solid Gold, 18k Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver, all of our jewellery is hand made by talented artisans. We are proud that our diamonds, gemstones and materials are all ethically sourced and produced.
The quality of our jewellery is extremely important to us and we work closely with our artisans to ensure that the best materials and processes are used for every product.
This guide will help you to maintain your Lily Designs London pieces for as long as possible. There are many factors that can influence the wear and tear of your jewellery but above all it is important to remember that jewellery is delicate and needs to be looked after carefully so you can enjoy wearing it for many years to come.
We recommend that you keep your pieces away from water, sweat and cosmetics, and keep them in your Lily Designs London jewellery box - these will make your pieces last much longer!
STERLING SILVER
925 Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. We plate our pieces in 18k yellow gold, 18k rose gold or leave it as pure sterling silver for its natural colour. We recommend that you keep your pieces away from water, sweat and cosmetics, and keep them in a tightly sealed plastic pouch so their beauty will last much longer.
GOLD VERMEIL
Gold Vermeil (pronounced ver-mey) is Sterling Silver which has been coated with 2.5 microns of 18k gold plate (which means its super thick and longer lasting!). It strikes the perfect balance of high quality at an affordable price.
Using the highest quality materials and process, Gold Vermeil is far more durable than other gold plated options and can last for years. However, if worn continuously (especially rings) the gold plate can start to wear away after 6 months. In this instance, we will not be able to offer a refund as this is not a fault in the product, but rather the nature of wear and tear.
We offer a gold vermeil re-plating service, so get in touch with alice@lilydesignslondon.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
DIAMONDS
Diamonds are one of the most durable and longest lasting natural substances found on earth, therefore commonly used as a promise for eternal love. Our high quality diamonds are ethically sourced from our trusted suppliers who follow ethical guidelines.
GEMSTONES
We pride ourselves on the quality and beauty of our semi precious gemstones, we source stones from all over the world! All ethically sourced.
All of our semi precious gemstones are completely natural meaning that each stone is unique to you! We use a lot of Zircon and Topaz stones and there can be variations in colour and pattern within them, however we feel that this just adds to their natural beauty! Each stone is carefully selected and considered for every new design we make - we hope you love as much as we do!
PEARLS
We use cultured or farmed pearls that follow ethical guidelines. We only have a few pieces with pearls but we want to ensure they are the best!
HALLMARKING
Every piece of ours is stamped with the metal mark and 'LDL' as our designer's mark. Our solid gold pieces are all sent to the London Assay Office to ensure quality of metal. So don't just take our word for it! The marks include our designer's mark, the year mark, the metal quality mark and the London Assay Office symbols. They are very small and discreet on the inside of the band.
